Strictly Strings!
The Canyon Hills String Orchestra class provides Fine Arts Credit (a graduation and UC entrance requirement) to all students enrolled. Students can choose from violin, viola, cello, or bass and perform in a core ensemble composed entirely of other string players.
From time to time the orchestra will combine with some wind players from the band and/or singers from the choir for performances.
Seniors in their 4th year taking Orchestra may opt to take the "Honors" section of the class (for 5.0 "A" credit, like other honors classes).
String players who perform at a high level also have the opportunity to audition for the district's honor orchestra in the winter and perform at various community festivals (outside of school) throughout the year.
