December Nights is an annual winter holiday festival held the first weekend of December in downtown San Diego at beautiful Balboa Park.
It is (by far) the largest annual free public event in the city of San Diego, hosting thousands of guests.
Canyon Hills students have routinely secured an invitation to play on a stage at the festival, giving them access to one of the largest audiences possible in San Diego!
Each year, we combine band, orchestra, and choral students to create a wintry performance for anyone to enjoy.
Students will be selected on their musical merits and willingness to rehearse after school and during lunch to prepare for the performance. MP3s of the music will be available here for students to practice along to as things get closer.
Students are responsible for their own music stands AND chairs for this event.

The 2024 performance was on Saturday December 7th. Call time was 1145AM and performance time was 1230PM in front of the San Diego Museum of Art.
Parking passes are generally available on a limited basis and gain you access to one of the vendor parking lots.
