Weekdays 07/12 to 07/30 1PM to 4PM:

All VAPA students (visual and performing arts) are invited to join us every afternoon during the above dates as we transform rooms 404 and 405 from "Serra High School Conquistadors" to "Canyon Hills High School Rattlers"!
Music lockers will be decorated and changed from brown and gold to red and black, rattler iconography will be created for the entrance of the room, and we'll be one of the first departments to fully embrace our new color scheme and mascot! 
Paint and materials will be provided. Come with a mind full of creativity and wearing some clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Even if you don't feel artistically inclined, there's a lot to do in terms of moving things and covering things. Come help out!
This is not for class credit - just a fun, free summer arts camp. All current, incoming, and potential future VAPA students are invited!
"Camp" will not interfere with summer school - we will meet for a few short hours at Serra/Canyon Hills in and around rms 404 and 405 each day after summer school classes have ended. 

We will meet every weekday except Friday 07/23 and Thursday 07/29

"Summer Music Ensemble", "Summer Switchover", and "Musical Theatre Intensive" should be the first few items that pop up.
There will be other options as well, but none of those actually take place at the school (they're ran by other organizations at other places around San Diego - feel free to sign up and get involved, but I don't have any involvement there and they're not on campus).

Friday 08/06 10AM-2PM

If you were chosen to be a member of the marching band leadership team then this is a mandatory. We will talk about your roles and responsibilities, strategize for band camp, and discuss what we can do to build up the group for the future. 

Weekdays 08/09 to 08/20:

Two weeks of Marching Band Camp for ALL SHS/CHHS Marching Band students begins on August 9th.

Tentative times are 8AM to 2PM each day.

If you (or your student) is going to be involved in marching band for the 2021/2022 school year, this is an extremely important experience to attend (anyone who will be involved in marching band but CANNOT attend should contact Mr Fiedler at mfiedler@sandi.net).

No cost is involved, but students should come prepared with a lunch (or money to buy lunch) each day during meal break.

We will cover and review marching basics and learn the opening part of our 2021 field show. It's essential to master these skills BEFORE school (and the football and tournament season!) begins. Students who miss camp will not be prevented from joining the marching band, but they will have a lot of catching up to do on day one.
